CFD Marine AS provides services ensuring that structures are able to withstand environmental impact. We analyse, calculate and simulate the behaviour and strength of currents, thus limiting the need for costly and time-consuming experimental rounds and model tests. This allows for optimized designs at a much earlier stage.

CFD Marine AS can contribute in the planning, design and testing phases. We follow up testing in scaled-down and full-scale models, and we ensure quality assurance and documentation. Our main business is in the marine sector, where we are considered to be a market leader in Norway. However, our technology is also fully applicable to calculation and simulation for fixed structures on land and on the seabed.

Research and development constitute another important aspect of CFD Marine AS. The company has emerged in the wake of extensive development work in hydrodynamics and ship design, with emphasis on functionality and safety of free-falling lifeboats. The company is ideal as a contributor or project manager in the development of completely new constructions.

CFD Marine AS was founded in 2008 by Dr. ing. Hans Jørgen Bjelke Mørch, who is also the company's CEO. The company’s establishment was primarily a consequence of ground-breaking CFD simulations of lifeboats in free falls, in close collaboration with NorSafe AS. CFD Marine AS currently has six employees and is located in Tvedestrand, a city with long traditions in shipping.
